This melody (and accompanying lyrics) were written by Anton Wilhelm von Zuccalmaglio as “Kein schöner Land” in 1840 and it became one of the most-beloved German folk songs up to this day. I took the liberty of changing the mode to minor and give it a new harmonisation.
